Home Minister G. Parameshwara of Karnataka revealed on Tuesday that he was unaware of the reasons behind Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s visit to Delhi. He suggested the purpose might be to provide information on the stampede tragedy to the party’s high command. Parameshwara mentioned he wasn’t contacted about the trip and would go if asked. Reports indicate the leaders may discuss the stampede and the caste census. They are expected to meet with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, potentially at Indira Bhawan, as part of their visit.
