The Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has accumulated seven traffic violations this year. Most of these violations are due to not wearing a seatbelt. Consequently, the Chief Minister has been penalized, resulting in a fine of 2,500 rupees. The incidents were captured by Bangalore’s Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras. The recent penalties were issued after the state government offered a 50% discount on outstanding traffic fines. It is believed that the Chief Minister often forgets to fasten his seatbelt, leading to these violations and subsequent fines.
