The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the stray dog case today, following protests against its prior rulings. A bench of three judges, led by Chief Justice Gavai, will preside over the hearing; the bench includes Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and N.V. Anjaria. The initial order by Justices Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan had instructed the relocation of stray dogs to shelter homes. The SIR case will also be addressed by the Supreme Court today. The court clarified yesterday that the SIR initiative is not intended to disenfranchise voters, cautioning against misrepresenting Bihar. Eleven documents are recognized as valid under SIR, and the demand for any additional documents is considered unwarranted. Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi’s legal representative is set to retract the plea filed on Thursday, which raised concerns about the safety of the Congress leader. In preparation for Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu will deliver an address to the nation. Stay informed with the latest updates by refreshing the page.
