The Supreme Court’s recent ruling concerning stray dogs has ignited a discussion. Some individuals have expressed approval of the decision, while others have voiced their opposition. Overall, the public response has been varied. Barun Das, the MD and CEO of TV9 Network, has also provided his insights on the matter.
Das mentioned that the behavior of stray dogs serves as a reflection of society. The Supreme Court has issued an order to relocate all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR to shelter homes within an 8-week timeframe.
“Animals only react when they feel threatened,” stated Barun Das. He explained that the manner in which a dog responds to a visitor in a particular area reflects the social environment. Furthermore, he suggested that a dog’s aggression towards a child might be a consequence of previous abuse.
Barun Das acknowledged the Supreme Court’s decision, considering it a representation of both relief and apprehension. He applauded the order, recognizing it as a notable advancement towards ensuring public safety. However, he also highlighted the need for a profound examination of the interplay between humans and animals, asserting that it goes beyond a simple legal mandate, prompting collective contemplation.
