Tragedy struck in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district as a collision between an SUV and a truck claimed the lives of five people and injured five others. The passengers of the SUV, who were from West Bengal, were traveling to Bilaspur to board a train to Kolkata after visiting Kanha National Park. The accident took place near Akalgharia village. Separately, the DRI in Hyderabad successfully disrupted a pangolin scale smuggling ring, seizing 6.53 kilograms of scales in Telangana. The operation, conducted in Hanamkonda, led to the arrest of four individuals linked to the illegal wildlife trade, representing the potential poaching of roughly five pangolins. These animals are sought for their scales, particularly in certain Asian markets.
