Patna’s skyline is about to get a glamorous upgrade with the announcement of a five-star Taj Hotel on Bankipur Bus Stand land. The landmark MoU between Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation and Sarga Hotel Private Limited was signed today, graced by Tourism Minister Arun Shankar Prasad, under the innovative PPP model.
IHCL will bring its legendary Taj expertise to create a 500-room masterpiece—350 in phase one, 150 in phase two. Addressing the gathering, Prasad stressed the urgency: Patna needs elite hotels to match its ambitions. The government’s trio of capital projects includes one in progress, this fresh agreement, and a third in motion.
With deadlines locked in, the focus shifts to execution. Bihar is simultaneously revamping tourist circuits and facilities near hotspots like Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, and the emerging Janaki Temple draw in Sitamarhi. BSTDC chief Nandkishore outlined the grand scale, and Taj’s K. Mohan Chandran committed to excellence befitting the brand’s legacy.
This venture repurposes strategic public space into a thriving hospitality hub, promising jobs, tourism revenue, and world-class amenities. Patna, long underserved in luxury stays, steps into a new era, aligning with Bihar’s vision to become a premier destination for pilgrims, professionals, and pleasure-seekers alike.
