A devastating bridge collapse in Vadodara, Gujarat, has resulted in the loss of nine lives. According to officials, a portion of the Gambhira bridge gave way, leading to multiple vehicles falling into the Mahisagar river. Rescue teams, including the NDRF and local authorities, are actively engaged in search and rescue operations. The collapse involved the failure of a mid-span slab, approximately 10-15 meters in size. The government has announced compensation for the families of the deceased and those injured. Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences and assured full support for the rescue efforts.
