मणिपुर:

A story of sheer willpower unfolds in Manipur where Binita Khumukcham, a disabled student from Jiribam, has scored a stellar 67.4% in Commerce for HSE 2026, securing first division. Her method? Writing entire exams using her feet—a display of indomitable focus.

Announced April 20 by COHSEM, the results show 92.23% pass rate among 31,259 candidates (28,829 passed). Breakdown: Science 93.28%, Arts 89.87%, Commerce 82.57%, for tests from February 17-March 4.

At Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Binita also shone with a letter mark in Computer Science. Her family’s modest means—reliant on father’s kirana store—amplify this milestone of perseverance.

In a media chat Tuesday, Binita outlined dreams of Commerce higher education and launching a business. Top honors went to Science duo Takhelambam Kalpana Devi and Yohen Longjam (490), Arts’ Sarangthem Ayingbi Chanu (470), Commerce’s Thoihenba Thongam (454).

Binita’s odyssey from challenges to cheers reinforces that with mental fortitude, no obstacle is insurmountable.
