In Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, a car accident resulted in a vehicle entering the Shipra River on Saturday night. The incident was reported around 8:45 PM. Emergency responders recovered the body of a policeman following the incident. The Ujjain SP, Pradeep Sharma, confirmed the occurrence, stating that a white car had plunged into the river from a bridge. Witnesses and police personnel at the scene indicated the car likely had a driver and a front-seat passenger, with the windows shut, although this information awaits official verification. SDRF teams are mobilized to locate the car underwater. The vehicle was transporting police officers connected to an ongoing investigation, including a station in-charge, an SI, and a woman constable. The rescue operation is challenging due to the river’s high water levels caused by recent rains.
