This sweeping operation zeroes in on expressways, NHs, SHs, and major roads where rogue parking turns thoroughfares into accident hotspots.
At its core, 117 holding areas stand ready as official parking havens, a direct response to Commissioner Kinjal Singh’s warnings about shoulder-lane dangers. These spots, she noted, act as deadly snares for unsuspecting drivers, prompting immediate road clearances and strict penalties for non-compliance.
Enforcement stats speak volumes: 4,949 vehicles scrutinized in 27 days, 3,488 ticketed, 55 seized, and 1,847 craned off roads—actions that have already transformed chaotic stretches into orderly paths. Awareness is equally vital, with tailored training for NCC, Scouts, and NGO youth to amplify safety messaging statewide.
