An 18-month-old girl has tragically died in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, after falling into a pot of boiling food. The incident occurred on Saturday night in the Duddhi area, where the child, whose father is a chaat vendor, was at home. The girl fell into a large vessel containing boiling ‘chhole’. This marks a repeat tragedy for the family, as the elder sister died two years ago in a comparable accident involving a vessel of boiling ‘dal’. Police were informed after the family cremated the child. Upon investigation, it was determined that the incident was an accident. Shailendra, the father, explained that his wife was preparing ‘golgappa’ and had momentarily left the room. During this time, the daughter, Priya, fell into the boiling container. Her mother quickly removed her and rushed her to a local hospital. She was subsequently transferred to the district hospital, where she passed away on Saturday due to her burns.
