In a move to recognize the service of Agniveers, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for those who have completed their service. This reservation covers various Group-C uniformed posts, including roles within the police, fire services, and forest departments. Beyond Agniveers, the government has also increased the benefits for the families of martyred soldiers, raising the ex-gratia amount to ₹50 lakh and providing a government job to one family member. The state government has also significantly increased the amount for Param Vir Chakra awardees to ₹1.5 crore. These measures highlight the state’s commitment to supporting its military personnel and their families. Furthermore, the construction of the Sainya Dham in Dehradun has been completed, serving as a tribute to the state’s military heritage.
