Manoj Pant, the Chief Secretary of West Bengal, is scheduled to appear before the Election Commission in Delhi on August 13, 2025, at 3 PM. This summons is related to alleged irregularities in the electoral rolls. Earlier, the EC had directed action against five officials: two Electoral Registration Officers, two Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and a data entry operator. The EC mandated their suspension, filing of FIRs, and initiation of departmental inquiries for adding names to voter lists illegally within the Baruipur Purba and Moyna constituencies.
