A man’s body was discovered near the SC Colony in Pathapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The victim, identified as 27-year-old Nalli Raju, was found with his motorcycle. Initially, the police considered the death suspicious due to the absence of external injuries. The post-mortem, however, revealed that Raju had been poisoned with sleeping pills and suffocated.
This prompted a deeper investigation. Examination of CCTV footage from Mondi Gola Street, where Raju lived, showed two suspicious individuals: Gundu Uday Kumar and Mallikarjun. The investigation intensified after these two were caught. The core of the case emerged from the questioning of Raju’s wife, Monica. It was revealed that she had orchestrated the murder.
Monica and Raju had been married for eight years and had two sons. Their marriage was troubled due to Monica’s affair with Gundu Uday Kumar. When Raju discovered the affair, he and his family confronted Monica, but she continued her relationship with her lover. She plotted to kill her husband because he stood between her and her lover. On the fifth of the month, Monica drugged Raju with five sleeping pills.
In the middle of the night, Monica summoned her lover, Gundu Uday Kumar, and his friend, Mallikarjun. They entered Raju’s home and suffocated him with a pillow. Udaykumar and Mallikarjun then moved Raju’s motorcycle and placed the body nearby, hoping to make it look like an accident. The next morning, Monica feigned ignorance, informing relatives that Raju had not returned home. The truth emerged during the police investigation.
Monica, Uday Kumar, and Mallikarjun were arrested and presented in court, where they were remanded to jail.
