Under Yogi Adityanath’s dynamic governance, Uttar Pradesh’s rural landscape is undergoing a profound change through the National Rural Livelihood Mission. From its earlier restriction to 104 development blocks, the program now blankets 826 blocks in every one of the state’s 75 districts, achieving an extraordinary eight-fold expansion.
A staggering 1.06 crore-plus women have been integrated into SHGs, equipped with expertise in premium sectors like fabric production, handicrafts, food processing units, dairy farming, beauty essentials, and organic produce. These women are transitioning into enterprise leaders, not just sustaining but expanding rural economic activity.
Critical support mechanisms—banking facilities, promotional aid, and skill workshops—have catalyzed income surges. Embracing technology, SHG collectives are harnessing e-commerce to market their goods globally, empowering direct consumer engagement.
The vision extends to fostering self-sustaining networks of women entrepreneurs per gram panchayat, where leaders train successors. This initiative embodies ‘Developed India – Developed UP,’ proving that women’s economic upliftment is the bedrock of holistic state advancement.
