A transformative healthcare announcement from Lucknow: Under CM Yogi Adityynath’s leadership, every cantonment hospital in Uttar Pradesh will treat Ayushman Bharat cardholders for free. This expansion harnesses defense medical excellence for the common man.
The blueprint was tested successfully at Prayagraj Cantonment Hospital from January 26, where beneficiaries received top-notch care in cardiology, nephrology, oncology, and more—complete with zero-cost OPDs, diagnostics, and rides to the facility.
Now, SHA is finalizing MoUs for 12 additional hospitals spanning Lucknow, Bareilly, Jhansi, and beyond. The move, greenlit after Prayagraj’s positive feedback, will dramatically expand treatment options for serious ailments.
As per SHA’s Dr. Puja Yadav, these partnerships deliver expert care tailored for complex health challenges, with transport support to eliminate barriers for low-income patients. Hospitals are being retrofitted to match Ayushman protocols, including digital integration for claims.
The ripple effects are profound: more empaneled beds, decongested public systems, and broader access to advanced facilities. This fusion of military and civilian health sectors reflects the government’s vision for equitable, efficient services.
In essence, Yogi’s masterstroke empowers the poor with elite healthcare, fostering a healthier Uttar Pradesh and redefining public welfare through strategic alliances.
