Justice D Y Chandrachud, the seniormost Supreme Courtroom choose, takes oath as fiftieth CJI at the moment | Information

NEW DELHI: Senior-most Supreme Courtroom choose Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud on Wednesday took oath because the fiftieth Chief Justice of India. He was administered the oath of workplace by President Draupadi Murmu on the majestic lawns of the Rashtrapati Bhawan right here. His illustrious father Y V Chandrachud was the longest-serving Chief Justice of India (CJI)  and remained on the helm from February 22, 1978, to July 11, 1985.

Justice Chandrachud will function the CJI for 2 years until November 10, 2024. Supreme Courtroom judges retire on the age of 65. He succeeds Uday Umesh Lalit, who had really helpful him as his successor to the Centre on October 11.  President Draupadi Murmu had appointed him as the following CJI on October 17.

Justice Chandrachud, born on November 11, 1959, was elevated to the highest courtroom on Might 13, 2016. He has been a part of a number of Structure benches and landmark verdicts of the highest courtroom together with on issues referring to the Ayodhya land dispute, the best to privateness and adultery.
