Laxminarayan Patwa, Raigarh. The district court has given its verdict in the case of attempting to kill IAS and other employees by crushing them with a JCB in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. In this case, all the four accused have been sentenced to 10 years each. A fine of Rs 10,100 has also been imposed.
In fact, in 2019, a team led by the then Assistant Collector ISS Mayank Chaturvedi and Deputy Director Minerals Shivshankar Nag went to inspect the mines located at Timralga in Sarangarh, where illegal excavation and storage of minerals was reported. During the inspection, the accused threatened the officials on the spot and tried to kill them by crushing them with the bucket of a JCB. A report of this incident was lodged at the Sarangarh police station.
The main culprit of this case, Amrit Patel, has died. In this case, Jitendra Kumar Jain, Special Judge, Raigarh Court has sentenced four accused Kanhaiya Patel, Haricharan Patel, Loknath Patel and Lalsai Nishad to 10 years each and imposed a fine of Rs 10,100. In this incident, the JCB, car and a bike used in the attempt to kill the officials by crushing them have been confiscated. In this sensational case, Special Public Prosecutor Anup Kumar Sahu pleaded the case on behalf of the government.
