Three-four months ago, a 20-year-old girl from Kanker got acquainted with 19-year-old Shubham Banjare, a resident of Birgaon, Raipur, on Instagram. During the conversation, the young man made an objectionable video of her and started blackmailing her. The girl lodged a report in Kanker police station. Taking immediate action on the girl’s report, the Kanker police station in-charge’s team registered a crime and raided the accused’s hideout in Raipur.
The cunning accused kept changing his location several times during this period. On this, Cyber Cell in-charge Inspector Prem Prakash Avadhiya kept updating the police team about the location and the accused was surrounded and taken into custody in Raipur at 3 am today. During the investigation, the police found evidence of the crime under section 79 BNS against the accused, hence the above section has been added to the case, the accused was produced in the court on judicial remand.
Police said that in this action, under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police IK Elesela, Additional Superintendent of Police Manisha Thakur Raote, Sub-Divisional Officer Mohsin Khan and guidance of Police Station Incharge Manish Nagar, Assistant Sub Inspector Vedan Salame, along with Staff Sub Inspector Somendra Singh, Head Constable 123 Satyaprakash Singh, Constable 1055 Devendra Mandavi, Constable 525 Durgesh Sonwani, Constable 1111 Rakesh Lakra, took prompt action and put the accused behind bars.
