Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. A royalty scam of Rs 3 crore 80 lakh has come to light in Marwahi forest division. The hearing of this case is going on in Bilaspur High Court, where the forest department could not produce the royalty receipt. The court has directed the petitioner to file a rejoinder. The next hearing of the case will be after three weeks.
According to the information, major irregularities have been done in the construction of 121 anicuts in the Pendra area of Marwahi Forest Division. Trucks and Hiva were used for the supply of mineral material, but royalty receipt was not taken as per the rules. The forest department has paid the royalty amount of about Rs 3 crore 80 lakh without receipt.
