Raipur. The first pediatric cadaver liver transplant was done on an 11-year-old child from Mandla under the leadership of Dr. Sandeep Dave, Medical and Managing Director at the Ramakrishna Care Hospital in the capital. Now the child is completely healthy and is leading his regular daily routine.
The child was suffering from a disease called liver cirrhosis for 06 years. The child was suffering from jaundice, his stomach was getting filled with water and the child was getting weaker day by day. For this, he needed a liver transplant, which the doctor had informed his family about, but due to no donor being available in the family, liver transplant was not possible, due to which the family was wandering in many big cities for liver treatment. The child was being treated in Ramakrishna Care Hospital for 2 months and the patient had registered his name in the waiting list of Soto Chhattisgarh for cadaveric liver transplant.
