Bhopal: We are all consumers in some form or the other, but we do not know the rights. It is our responsibility to make other people of the society aware along with ourselves. Additional Chief Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami said this at the state level program organized in Bhopal of World Consumer Rights Day.
Mrs. Shami said that at present most of the purchases are being done through e-platform. What action can be taken if quality material is not found in this, it should be known. Cases of Rs 50 lakh are heard up to Rs 50 lakh in District Consumer Protection Courts, Rs 50 lakh to Rs 2 crore in State Consumer Protection Commission and more amount in National Consumer Protection Commission. Consumers can appeal at the next level in 45 days if dissatisfied with the decision. He urged social organizations to keep consumers constantly aware. Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Food Commission, Mr. V.K. Malhotra said that the awareness of consumers and sensitivity of those implementing schemes is very important.
Registrar Madhya Pradesh Consumer Disputes Correspondence Commission Shri Shobhit Jain said that consumers should be made aware by organizing such workshops at division and district level as well. He also insisted on making consumers aware about Sustainable Future and Green Foot-Print. Commissioner Food Shri Karmaveer Sharma informed that online hearing has also been made in consumer courts. With this, consumers can attend the hearing from home. He also gave information about the rights provided to consumers.

The winning student of the state level Nimbadh competition on the subject of consumer rights Shri Dharendra Maravi of school Virsa district Balaghat has a first of 6 thousand rupees, S.M. Mr. Pawan Shaktode of school number-19 New Basera was given a second prize of Rs 4 thousand and Ms. Heeral Dashi of Christina Convent Higher Secondary School Mahugaon District Indore was given a third prize and citation of Rs 2 thousand. Similarly, the winning student of the poster competition, the S.P. 19 New Basera district Kumari Poonam Bodade of Indore, first of Rs 6 thousand, SH.M. Kumari Waterfall of Birsa District Balaghat to Rahangadale, second and PMshree SHC. Kumari Sejal Tekam of Baihar district Balaghat was given a third prize of Rs 2 thousand.
On this occasion, guests visited the exhibition organized by various departments on consumer awareness. He gave the first prize to the exhibition of the measurement department, second to the exhibition of Warehousing and the third prize to the exhibition of Food and Drug Administration.
