Asian Games 2023: India lost in football, won in hockey, now will face Pakistan

Asian Games 2023 Team India: Thursday was a day of ‘sometimes happiness and sometimes sadness’ for India in the Asian Games. The Indian team registered its third consecutive win by defeating defending champion Japan 4-2 in hockey, while it faced defeat in football. The hockey team took a big step toward the semi-finals at the Hangzhou Games on Thursday.

For the Indian team, Abhishek scored two goals in the 13th and 48th minutes, while Mandeep Singh scored brilliant goals in the 24th and Amit Rohidas in the 34th minute to put the Indian team ahead. Japan staged a comeback in the last 5 minutes of the fourth and final quarter. He scored two consecutive goals, but after that the team started lagging behind. Ultimately Japan had to face defeat. India will face arch-rivals Pakistan in their next Pool A match on Saturday.

On the other hand, Indian football team had to face defeat from Saudi Arabia. The Indian team captained by Sunil Chhetri lost 0-2 in this match. Both the teams were face to face in the round-16 match. Actually, after the first half of the match, both the teams were tied 0-0, but after that the Saudi team dominated.

In the 51st minute, Saudi Arabia’s Maran Mohammed gave the team its first success through a header. After some time, in the 57th minute, the Saudi team once again performed brilliantly and scored a goal. After Saudi was ahead by two goals, the Indian team did not get any chance to score. In this way the journey of Team India ended. The Indian team is out after losing the pre-quarters.

India won a gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol team event on September 28, while Roshibina won a silver medal in wushu. Anush won bronze medal in horse riding. In this way, India has reached fifth place in the medal tally with 6 gold and a total of 25 medals. India has 6 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze medals.
