    Asian Games: Indian men’s hockey team scored 12 goals against Bangladesh, fifth consecutive win in Asian Games

    The Indian men’s team defeated Bangladesh 12-0 in the hockey event of the Asian Games. Team India performed brilliantly in its last match in Pool A on Monday, October 2. India got its fifth consecutive win in the pool. The Indian team has not lost a single match so far. With this victory, it remains at first position in Pool-A. Team India will now enter the semi-finals on October 3. There it may face competition from host China. This time India has scored 58 goals so far and only five goals have been scored against China. Captain Harmanpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh completed their respective hat-tricks in the match for India. Both scored three goals each. Abhishek took the ball to the goal post twice. Lalit Upadhyay, Amit Rohidas, Abhishek and Nilkanta Sharma have scored one goal each.

    This is how India scored goals in the match

    • First goal: The first goal for India came in the second minute. Bangladesh’s Ashraful’s shot inside the D area hit Mandeep’s leg. Hardik took a shot at the penalty corner. He passed the ball towards captain Harmanpreet Singh. Harmanpreet put the ball in the goal post without making any mistake.

    • Second goal: Immediately after the first goal, India got the second penalty corner in the third minute. This time too Harmanpreet did not make any mistake and put the ball in the goal post. He scored his second goal in the match.

    • Third goal: Mandeep Singh scored the third goal for India. He put the ball into the goal post on Abhishek’s pass and added the third goal to India’s account.

    • Fourth goal: India got the fourth goal in the 23rd minute. Lalit Upadhyay put the ball into the goal post on Abhishek’s pass.

    • Fifth goal: Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh tried to put the ball in the goalpost with a drag flick, but the ball came back. Mandeep, who was standing nearby, took advantage of the opportunity in the 24th minute and scored a goal on the rebound.

    • Sixth goal: The sixth goal was added to India’s account in the 28th minute. Captain Harmanpreet was not on the field. In his absence, Varun Kumar and Amit Rohidas took charge. Rohidas scored a brilliant goal to put India ahead 6-0 in the match.

    • Seventh goal: Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored the seventh goal for India. He completed his hat-trick in the 32nd minute.

    • Eighth goal: Abhishek scored India’s eighth goal in the 41st minute.

    • Ninth goal: In the 46th minute, Mandeep surprised the Bangladesh goalkeeper. He scored a brilliant goal and put India ahead 9-0 in the match.

    • Tenth goal: Abhishek tried to score another goal in the 47th minute, but he could not succeed. Nilakanta Sharma standing near him scored the goal on the rebound.

    • 11th goal: Sumit scored a brilliant goal for India in the 56th minute and gave the team a lead of 11-0.

    • 12th goal: The 12th goal in India’s account came in the 57th minute. Abhishek scored another goal. Bangladeshi players also took a review against his goal, but the decision came in favor of India.

    • First match: Beat Uzbekistan 16-0.

    • Second match: Defeated Singapore 16-1.

    • Third match: Defeated Japan 4-2.

    • Fourth match: Defeated Pakistan 10-2.

    • Fifth match: Beat Bangladesh 12-0.
