    Balance disturbed on the bridge, pickup fell into Shivnath river, 4 including 2 children died in the accident

    A pickup vehicle fell down from a river bridge in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. 4 people have died in the accident. The accident is said to have occurred due to loss of balance. After 4 hours of hard work, the SDRF team pulled the vehicle out of the river on Wednesday. The bodies of a woman, two children and the driver were found in the vehicle. All the bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem. Durg police is still investigating the matter.

    According to information received from the police, the pickup vehicle fell into the river from the old bridge of Shivnath river located in Pulgaon, Durg. The accident occurred due to loss of balance of the vehicle while coming from Rajnandgaon towards Durg. On Wednesday morning the SDRF team recovered the vehicle from the river. Bodies of 4 people were found inside. The driver has been identified as Lalit Sahu (40 years) of Borsi area. Family members of the deceased say that Lalit had gone to eat food. All the dead bodies have been sent to the mortuary located in the fort. After receiving information about the accident, Durg MLA Arun Vora also reached the spot.

    SDRF team launched rescue operation

    According to eyewitnesses, at around 1 am on Tuesday night, a speeding pickup coming from Rajnandgaon towards Durg fell straight into the river. People informed the police about it. SDRF team started the rescue operation on Wednesday morning. The pickup was being taken out from the river by tying it with a rope. When it was pulled with a tractor, the rope broke. After this the pickup vehicle was taken out using a crane. Police is investigating from both angles whether it was an accident or suicide. Family members are being interrogated.
