Twelve people were burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a firecracker warehouse-cum-shop in Attibele area of Anekal taluk in Bengaluru on Saturday. State CM Siddaramaiah has expressed grief over the death of 12 people in a fire accident in a firecracker shop. According to the statement issued by Karnataka CMO, CM Siddaramaiah has said that I am very sad to hear the news that 12 people died in a fire in a firecracker shop near Anekal in Bengaluru City district. He has said that I am going to go to the accident site tomorrow and inspect it. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased workers.

Regarding the incident, the police said that many people including the shop owner got burnt and are undergoing treatment. He told that one of the injured has suffered serious burns and he has been referred to another hospital. According to the police, the incident happened around 4.30 pm. Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi said regarding the incident that some employees were working inside the shop when the fire broke out. Police said that in view of Diwali, firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees were kept in the shop which caught fire and started exploding.
