    Chhattisgarh India Tv CNX Opinion Poll: Dates for Chhattisgarh Assembly elections have been announced. Before the elections, both the parties are claiming victory. After the announcement of election dates, new surveys have come out to know the mood of Chhattisgarh. BJP may get some relief from this survey report, while there are many issues which can challenge Congress. Actually, before voting, India TV CNX conducted an opinion survey.

    The results of this opinion poll are shocking. According to this survey, Congress can register 50 seats out of 90 seats in the state in the upcoming assembly elections. While BJP may register victory on 38 seats, others are seen going from zero to 2 seats. According to this survey, even though BJP does not seem to reach the majority mark, there is a possibility of increase in its seats. In the 2018 assembly elections, BJP had won only 15 seats i.e. about 16 percent seats, hence this time BJP is expected to win about 9 to 20 percent more seats as compared to the last election.

    It is noteworthy that in the 2018 assembly elections fought under the leadership of Bhupesh Baghel, Congress had won 68 seats and deprived Raman Singh, who was in power for 3 terms, from forming the government again. At present Congress has a total of 71 seats in the state assembly. The state government led by Bhupesh Baghel is claiming to form a repeat government by winning the next assembly.

    Congress has 71 out of 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh. Whereas BJP has only 13 MLAs. In this way, Janata Congress Chhattisgarh has 3 seats, BSP has 2 seats. In the 2003 assembly elections, BJP won more than 50 out of 91 seats in the state and formed the government under the leadership of Raman Singh. After this, BJP won consecutively in the 2008 and 2013 assembly elections. In the 2018 assembly elections, Congress returned to power under the leadership of Bhupesh Baghel after 15 years.
