Conspiracy of 'Lal Diary' was hatched in BJP headquarters: Ashok Gehlot

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the BJP, alleging that the ‘Lal Diary’ conspiracy was hatched at the BJP headquarters, but it failed. Gehlot said that Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Zafar Islam were involved in the conspiracy related to ‘Lal Diary’ to topple the government. He said, “They (BJP) are toppling the elected government, they have no moral right to remain in power.” They toppled elected governments in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. Then what is the meaning of elections?

It is noteworthy that Rajendra Gudha, the then minister of Gehlot government, had targeted the state government on crimes against women in the Assembly in July, after which he was dismissed. He had claimed to have a red diary which allegedly contained details of the Chief Minister’s irregular financial transactions. In Jodhpur on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the public in a questioning tone, “People say that every black act of corruption of Congress is in the Lal Diary. Should the dark secrets of Lal Diary be revealed or not? Should everything come out openly or not?

Sacked minister Rajendra Gudha had claimed that it contained details of financial transactions of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Gehlot also alleged that BJP leaders Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had conspired to topple his government. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was referring to the political crisis caused by the rebellion of the then Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs in 2020.

Addressing a function at the Commerce College in Jaipur, Gehlot also hit out at the Prime Minister for targeting the Congress government for the communal riots in Jodhpur. Referring to the communal violence that took place in Jodhpur in May last year, the Prime Minister asked where the Chief Minister was when Jodhpur was burning.

Responding to this, Gehlot said, “I regret that today the Prime Minister said in Jodhpur that when people were dying in this city, where was the Chief Minister?” Don’t know who gives them information? Not a single person died in Jodhpur, there was only communal tension in Karauli and Jodhpur.” In the program on Thursday, the Chief Minister released the ‘Vision Document’ of the ‘Mission 2030’ Master Plan and ‘Gig Workers’ Also announced a lump sum assistance of Rs 5000.

He announced 90 percent concession in fare for women and girls on monthly travel passes in roadways buses. Gehlot also laid the foundation stone of works worth Rs 12,700 crore. He alleged that the Center has reduced the money given to the state. In the program, Gehlot announced to give a lump sum amount of Rs 5000 to the gig workers if they register with the state government. This amount will be given to them for the purchase of helmets, dresses, shoes and other items of daily use for the ‘gig workers’. Gig workers include ‘company representatives’, drivers etc. working with companies like Ola, Uber, Swiggy, Zomato. He said that all girls and women will be given 90 percent discount in bus fare if they get monthly roadways pass.
