Marking a new chapter in international electoral dialogue, the Election Commission of India will host IICDEM 2026 from January 21 to 23 at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. This prestigious three-day summit, under the IIIDEM banner, will bring together over 100 delegates from more than 70 countries, international entities, foreign missions in India, and top-tier experts in election academia and operations.
The distinguished opening on January 21 will see CEC Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, and Vivek Joshi greet participants and launch proceedings.
The itinerary blends high-stakes plenaries for EMB heads, executive committees, and 36 dynamic thematic clusters led by state/UT electoral chiefs with academic heavyweights from IITs, IIMs, NLUs, and IIMC. Focus areas include navigating global electoral dilemmas, pioneering innovations, and establishing best-practice benchmarks.
To deepen ties, the ECI schedules over 40 bilateral engagements with fellow EMBs. A tech-forward launch of ECINet will provide a seamless digital portal for all election-related resources.
An enlightening exhibition will vividly portray India’s election colossus—its vastness, complexities, and ECI’s cutting-edge efforts to fortify voter rolls and polling integrity.
Setting a dramatic tone, the first day unveils ‘India Decides,’ an engrossing documentary capturing the epic scale of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
IICDEM 2026 stands as India’s bold statement in global democracy leadership, fostering enduring collaborations to safeguard electoral excellence everywhere.
