If Congress comes to Chhattisgarh, it will conduct caste survey – Priyanka Gandhi said in Kanker; Accusations made against PM

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has promised the people of Chhattisgarh that if her party forms the government again, then it will conduct a caste-based census in the state like Bihar. While addressing the Urban Bodies and Panchayati Raj Mahasammelan on Friday in Govindpur in Kanker district, Priyanka Gandhi also promised the public to build 10 lakh houses for the poor if the government is formed.

He also said that the BJP led government at the Center is for the rich people and is not concerned about the poor and the middle class. Priyanka Gandhi said, ‘If the Congress party again comes to power in Chhattisgarh, then on the lines of the caste survey conducted in Bihar, caste census will be conducted in this state too.’

In Chhattisgarh, the announcement is being seen as a major step to woo the Other Backward Classes, which constitute about 45 percent of the state’s population. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “Modi ji says this is his guarantee (to fulfill whatever he promises) but the promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account and creating crores of jobs is What happened to Modi’s guarantee? Whenever any question is asked, Modi ji gives a new guarantee. Their guarantee is an empty guarantee.

Vadra said that the BJP-led central government has weakened the farmers in the country. He said, ‘Farmers in the country are earning Rs 27 per day, but Adani and other industrialists are earning Rs 1,600 crore per day.’ The Congress leader said, all they (BJP) want is to hand over the country’s wealth to their industrialist friends and then send it to the party through them. And then they keep spending (money) in elections.

He said that his only goal is to remain in power and not the welfare of the people. Priyanka Gandhi also hit out at the Raman Singh-led government in the state (from 2003-2018) and said violence was the rule in the state during the BJP rule, while the Congress took the state out of the clutches of violence in five years.
