IIT Bombay students get annual package of Rs 3.7 crore, more than 82% placement

IIT students have got a great salary package this year too! After the completion of the annual placement drive of IIT Bombay, the institute has said that it has received the highest annual international job offer of Rs 3.7 crore. NDTV has quoted the official release as saying that an IIT Bombay student has got a package of Rs 1.7 crore in the country itself. If we compare this with last year’s packages, the highest international offer was Rs 2.1 crore, while the domestic offer was Rs 1.8 crore per annum. That means the highest international package is much more than last year. IIT Bombay has not disclosed the names of the students who have received these offers. The institute also said that 16 of its students have accepted job offers with an annual salary above Rs 1 crore. 300 pre-placement offers were received for the year 2022-23, out of which 194 have been accepted. The report says that 2174 students were registered in the campus placement period from July 2022 to June 2023. Out of them, 1845 students actively participated in the placement, which is the largest number till date. It is reported that IIT-Bombay students received 65 job offers from abroad. These offers are related to offices in America, Japan, UK, Netherlands, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The average package in the placement season 2022-2023 is Rs 21.82 lakh per annum, which is higher than the last two years. Maximum placements have taken place in the engineering and technology sector. This year, fewer students have got jobs in IT and software sectors. Still, 302 students have received job offers from more than 88 companies in the IT/software sector. This year, trading, finance and fintech companies have shown more emphasis. There was also high demand for jobs in product management, analytics, data science, mobility. It is reported that more than 82 percent of the students who actively participated in the placement drive got jobs. 90 percent students of B.Tech, dual-degree and M.Tech programs have got jobs.
