India Canada Row: Regarding the murder case of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar India and Canada The tension between them has increased. The statement of the US State Department spokesperson has increased India’s problems. America has said that Canada’s investigation into the murder of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar should move forward and the criminals should be brought to justice.
Investigation of Nijjar case should proceed – America
US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller while talking to the media said that we are very concerned about the allegations made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. We are in close contact with our Canadian partners. In response to a question in this series, Miller said that I believe it is important to take Canada’s investigation forward and bring the criminals to justice. We have publicly and privately appealed to the Government of India to cooperate with Canada’s investigation. Let us tell you, Canada has alleged that Indian authorities were behind the murder of Nijjar. India has completely rejected these allegations calling them baseless.
Protest by Sikh organizations in Canada
Here, the World Sikh Organization is loudly protesting against the killing of Khalistani terrorist Nijjar. World Sikh Organization chief Tejinder Singh Sidhu has demanded to trace the killers of Nijjar. Khalistani supporters waved Khalistani flags and raised slogans during the protest against the killing of Nijjar. The crowd also demonstrated outside the Indian Consulate. In view of the protest, the security of the Indian Embassy has been increased. Police have put up barricades on the roads leading to the embassy.
Let us tell you, recently Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had accused India of having a hand in the murder of Khalistan Tiger Force chief Nijjar. After this the tension between India and Canada increased, which is now continuously increasing. At present, the tension in the relations between India and Canada does not seem to be reducing anywhere. Both the countries have already expelled each other’s top diplomats.
