MP Election 2023 : Voting for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held exactly one month from today. Before this, the phase of rhetoric is going on in the state. Meanwhile, Congress has fielded actor Vikram Mastal, known for playing the role of Lord Hanuman in a TV serial, against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from his home constituency Budhni, which is being discussed in the entire state. Regarding this contest, State Congress President and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that people are going to see an interesting contest between two “artists”. Let us tell you that last Sunday, Congress released its first list of 144 candidates for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections and fielded a non-political face, Vikram Mastal Sharma, to contest against Chauhan. 41-year-old Mastal has appeared in the role of Lord Hanuman in the popular 2008 TV serial “Ramayana-2”.
When asked about the contest on Budhni seat of Sehore district, State Congress President Kamal Nath while talking to the media said that it is absolutely a fight of artist versus artist. There should be a debate between the two as to who is the greater artist. In this (debate) Shivrajji will defeat our Mastalji. In October 2020, Kamal Nath had said that Chauhan was such a “good actor” that he could embarrass Bollywood actors like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan.
Shivraj is the leader who has held the post of Chief Minister for the longest period.
Congress spokesperson Charan Singh told reporters on Sunday that Mastal had joined Congress two months ago and is a resident of Budhni. He said that Chauhan faces a big challenge because Mastal is very popular and he is the “Hanuman” of the Congress. It should be noted that state CM Shivraj Chauhan (64) is the leader who has held the post of Chief Minister for the longest time in Madhya Pradesh and has held the top post for a record four times. He won from Budhni four times in a row in 2006 (by-election), 2008, 2013 and 2018. Chauhan successfully contested elections from this seat for the first time in 1990.
Budhni is the stronghold of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
It is noteworthy that Budhni of Sehore district, situated on the banks of river Narmada, has been the stronghold of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The ruling BJP has fielded him again from his home constituency for the sixth time in the state assembly elections to be held on November 17. Voting is to be held in the state on November 17 while the election results will be declared on December 5.
It may be noted that on October 13, the Congress Central Election Committee had met and approved the names of the candidates. After the meeting, Kamal Nath had said that the first list of candidates will be declared on the first day of Navratri as soon as the Shraddha is over. After this, on Sunday, the first day of Navratri, Congress released the list of 144 candidates. There are many hot seats in this list where Congress is making full efforts.
