July 6, 2018: Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years in jail after being convicted in the Avenfield case. He was convicted in absentia, as he was in London at the time caring for his ill wife.

July 13, 2018: Nawaz and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were arrested upon reaching Lahore from London.

11 September 2018: Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz died in London.

September 12, 2018: Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law granted parole, reach Lahore to attend Kulsoom’s funeral.

19 September 2018: Sharif family got a big relief. Islamabad High Court ordered the release of Nawaz, Maryam and Captain Muhammad Safdar while temporarily suspending the sentence given in the corruption case.

24 December 2018: Nawaz was sentenced to seven years in jail and fined Rs 1.5 billion in the Al-Azizia sugar mill case.
