Zainab Abbas apologizes for social media posts: Pakistani sports anchor Zainab Abbas on Thursday broke her silence on her deportation from India. Abbas had gone to India as a presenter for the ongoing World Cup 2023 in India. He left India on 9 October. However, on this matter the ICC had said that their decision was based on personal reasons.
I was not deported
“I have always felt extremely fortunate and grateful for the opportunities I have had to represent the game I love,” Zainab said in a statement on Twitter. Recalling his days in India, Abbas said his interactions with everyone were filled with a sense of belonging. After this he clarified – “I was neither asked to leave nor was I deported.”

family and friends were worried
Abbas also said that she was feeling scared due to the reactions coming online. He said- “Even though there was no threat to my safety, my family and friends on both sides of the border were worried. I needed some space and time to reflect on what had happened.”
‘I sincerely apologize’
Abbas also said on her social media post – “I understand the hurt caused by the posts that were circulated. For this I am deeply sorry. I want to make it clear that who I am today does not represent my values.” “There is no excuse or place for such language. “I sincerely apologize to anyone who was hurt by that.” Let us tell you that a case of making indecent comments on Hindu Gods and Goddesses in the posts of Zainab Abbas had come to light.

Zainab Abbas Reported on Pakistan’s opening match against Netherlands in Hyderabad, India on 6 October. He was scheduled to cover other matches in Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad, but faced trolling on social media after a lawyer in the capital Delhi filed a police complaint last week over his old tweets. Abbas has been a sports journalist and commentator since 2015. She became the first female sports reporter and commentator to cover the Cricket World Cup from Pakistan in 2019.
