The Israeli envoy said, “Prime Minister Modi’s message is very clear and strong, which is a good thing.”
According to Ben-Haim, it was important for Israel to unequivocally condemn this heinous attack and receive a strong message of support from the Indian government, which has suffered significant casualties.
The Consul General also said that Israel is now committed to fighting this terrorist organization, so that it cannot gather the strength to attack again.
“We want (India’s) support to continue,” he said. We want this coordination to continue. Hamas targeted Israeli civilians, Israeli children, women, but they are doing the same in Gaza.
Regarding the safety of Indian nationals in Israel, Ben-Haim said an injured Indian woman was in stable condition and had been evacuated from the southern part of Israel to the center of the country.
He said that flights from Israeli airports are operating normally.
The Consul General said that Israeli officials have spoken to some Indian students living in Israel and their family members in India.
Talking about the current situation, he said that Hamas attacked Israelis on October 7 on Shabbat (Saturday), which is a holy day for Jews and on that day they go to the temple and do not go to work.
He said, “More than 900 (Israelis) have been killed…this number may increase further, but 900 people have been murdered by the Hamas terrorist organization.” These are children, women, armed civilians (who were killed).
According to him, this is an attack carried out with the intention of destroying Israel and completely without provocation.
