Assembly elections are going to be held in Rajasthan this year. Before this, the phase of rhetoric is going on in the state. In this sequence, state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot last night announced to conduct caste based census in Rajasthan like Bihar. Various issues including caste based census, East Rajasthan Canal Project Yatra were discussed in the Congress Core Committee meeting on Friday in the War Room of the State Congress Committee. State Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Randhawa, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra and other leaders were present in the meeting. Talking to the media after the meeting, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Rajasthan government will also conduct caste based census like Bihar.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Rahul Gandhi ji is repeatedly saying that participation should be as per the population…we will take this concept forward. Therefore, we have decided that keeping in mind the party’s decision, the Rajasthan government should announce this campaign. The intentions of our party should be brought forward. He said that there are diverse castes in the country. People of different religions live there. Castes do different things. If we know how much population each caste has, then we will know what plans we have to make for them. It will be easier for us to plan according to caste.
