A cyclonic circulation has formed over the south-east Arabian Sea, due to which a low pressure area has formed over the south-east and adjoining east central Arabian Sea. According to Skymet Weather report, the low pressure area is likely to move in west-northwest direction and spread well during the next 24 hours. Skymet Weather estimates that the depression is likely to further intensify into a cyclone over the central Arabian Sea around October 21.
Due to the formation of this low pressure area, light to moderate rain occurred over Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, parts of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Konkan and Goa during the last 24 hours. Light to moderate rain and snowfall occurred in Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Light rain occurred in Punjab, Haryana, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Sikkim, Assam and parts of Rajasthan.
