Whatsapp Android Support: Popular messaging platform WhatsApp has millions of users in India. For the convenience and security of the people, this app of Meta introduces new updates from time to time. The smartphone on which you run WhatsApp works on an operating system (OS). WhatsApp has announced that in the coming days it will support only Android 5.0 version or later OS. This means that WhatsApp service will not work on smartphones which are running on OS earlier than Android 5.0 version. Is your phone also in this list? Let us know. According to Whatsapp, currently its app is running on Android OS 4.1 and above. It also supports iPhone iOS 12 and newer versions. Also, WhatsApp works on KaiOS 2.5.0 and later OS i.e. JioPhone and JioPhone 2. This is going to change from 24 October 2023. These changes are for Android devices. Whatsapp will work only on those Android devices which run on Android 5.0 and above. There are still such devices in the market which are working on OS older than Android 5.0. These especially include smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Xoom, HTC Desire HD, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3. If you also want to check the Android version of your phone, then follow this method. Go to phone settings. Click on About Phone there. As soon as you click, you will see the details related to the phone. It also contains OS version information. Talking about other news related to WhatsApp, recently it has introduced a new feature called WhatsApp Channel. In WhatsApp channels, the user can follow any celebrity or community or group. That means world’s famous personalities will be present here. Apart from this, many types of platform handles will also be available to the users like news, cinema, sports, entertainment, technology etc. This means that you will be able to follow the channel of your favorite topic and will keep getting new information related to it. Meta has launched this feature in more than 150 countries of the world. India is also included in this.
