Social media platform ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, is planning to charge an annual fee from users. You read it right! Elon Musk’s company will no longer be free. According to a report, X has said that it is going to charge users a fee of $ 1 every year under a new subscription model. This fee will have to be paid for posting content, replying, likes and repost. The new subscription model has been named ‘Not A Bot’. Money will have to be paid for creating an account. Those who create a new account on Twitter will have to pay money. Users who do not pay will only be able to read the content. X argues that by doing this it wants to deal with bots and spammers. Money started being taken in these countries. It has been told on the support handle of X that testing of ‘Not a Bot’ has started in New Zealand and Philippines. It says that new, unverified accounts will be required to pay a fee of $1 per year to interact with tweets and other posts. However, this testing will not have any impact on existing users.

Starting today, we’re testing a new program (Not A Bot) in New Zealand and the Philippines. New, unverified accounts will be required to sign up for a $1 annual subscription to be able to post & interact with other posts. Within this test, existing users are not affected. This…— Support (@Support) October 17, 2023

The company has said that the purpose of this program is not to earn profits. This is an attempt to reduce spam and bot activities. 1 dollar means that users in India will have to pay about Rs 83 every year to use X. (Prices vary by country and currency)The company already has an ‘X Premium’ subscription model. For this the company is charging up to Rs 900 every month. The charge for the web version is Rs 650 per month. Android and iOS users have to pay up to Rs 9,400 every year for annual subscription.
