IND vs BAN: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has changed the home calendar for 2024-25. On Tuesday, the board informed that the first match of the T20 series between India and Bangladesh will now be played in Gwalior instead of Dharamsala.

Earlier the first match of October 6 was to be played in Dharamshala, which will now be held in the new Madhav Rao Scindia Stadium in Gwalior. BCCI has shared information regarding this. The match has been shifted to Gwalior due to dressing room renovation in Dharamshala.

An international cricket match will be held in Gwalior after 14 years. Earlier in 2010, an ODI was played between India and South Africa, in which the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar scored the first double century of his career. In that match, Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 200 runs in 147 balls. The Indian team won that match by 153 runs. This match was held in Captain Roop Singh Stadium, but now matches will be held in the new stadium.

The venue of the T20 series against England has also changed. The second match of the T20 series between India and England will now be played in Chennai on 22 January 2025.
Why did the schedule of both the matches change?
Actually, renovation work is going on in the dressing room of Dharamshala stadium. Therefore, the match here has been shifted to Gwalior, while the second T20 against England has been shifted to Chennai on the request of Kolkata Police. Police and Bengal Association had asked to organize this match at another venue due to Republic Day.
