Ambikapur. The 8th Gatka National Championship is being organized in Punjab Sangrur from 24 to 27 August. In which the Chhattisgarh team is also participating in this national competition. 9 players from Surguja district have been selected in the Chhattisgarh team. In which Rajat Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Ayushman in the boys category and Sushmita, Sarita, Nancy, Nandita, Kashish, Shuman in the girls category have been selected from Surguja district. Krishna Ekka will leave from Surguja with the team.
National coach Rajesh Pratap Singh said that we are constantly trying to promote Gatka in Sarguja district. For the first time, 9 players from Sarguja are going to participate in the Gatka competition at the national level. 3000 players from all the states of India are participating in this competition.
Simran Singh, State President of Chhattisgarh Gatka Sangh said that selection trial and championship of Chhattisgarh team was done. Out of that 80 players have been selected. In which 9 players are from Surguja district. Those who are going to participate in the 8th National Championship, the players qualified during this National will qualify for National Games and Khelo India.
