In the aftermath of the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede, Virat Kohli is now facing a formal complaint at Cubbon Park Police Station. The complaint, filed by senior social activist H.M. Venkatesh, relates to the tragic events of June 4, when a stampede occurred after RCB’s IPL title celebrations. Police confirmed the complaint would be reviewed alongside the existing FIR. The stampede claimed the lives of eleven people and left many injured. The Bengaluru police also cancelled a planned victory parade. An arrest was made of the marketing head of the IPL 2025 champions. An FIR has been registered against RCB, the event management company, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association, with the police already conducting an investigation into the tragic events. The authorities are trying to determine how a celebratory event turned into a disaster. The Karnataka State Cricket Association denied responsibility and sought to quash the FIR. The incident has led to suspensions of senior police officers and the establishment of a judicial commission.
