Let us tell you that the record of taking the fastest 500 wickets in Test is in the name of Muttiah Muralitharan, who achieved this unique feat in the 87th Test. Now Ashwin has taken 500 wickets in Test cricket in the 98th Test match. Earlier, former Indian captain Anil Kumble had created this record in his 105th Test and Australian spinner Shane Warne had created this record in his 108th Test.

Ashwin is the ninth bowler in the world to complete 500 wickets in Test cricket. Also, he is the fifth spinner who has taken 500 or more wickets.
Fastest player to take 500 wickets
The record of taking the fastest 500 wickets in Test cricket is in the name of Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka). Muralitharan had achieved this feat in 87 tests. Whereas R. Ashwin has achieved this feat in 98 tests. Anil Kumble achieved this feat in 105 Tests, Shane Warne (Australia) in 108 Tests and Glenn McGrath (Australia) in 110 Tests.
