Team India has received formal permission from the Indian Sports Ministry to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. The match, part of Group A, will be held on September 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The ministry’s new policy, released on Thursday, addresses India’s involvement in international sporting events, especially those with Pakistan. The ministry’s policy reflects the country’s overall approach to Pakistan. The policy stipulates that India will not host bilateral series with Pakistan, nor will Indian teams participate in such events in Pakistan. However, the new policy makes an exception for multilateral tournaments such as the Asia Cup, allowing India to compete. Sources indicated the directive has immediate effect, resolving any uncertainty regarding India’s participation.
