Asia Cup 2025: Ramiz Raja Claims Andy Pycroft Favors India, Criticizes Suryakumar Yadav

Ramiz Raja, the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has leveled serious accusations against ICC match referee Andy Pycroft, alleging that Pycroft exhibits bias in favor of the Indian cricket team. The accusations stem from a post-match incident during an India vs. Pakistan match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where Indian players were reported to have refused to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts. The PCB reportedly took issue with Pycroft’s conduct, claiming he instructed Salman Agha not to shake hands with Suryakumar Yadav during the coin toss. Before a match against the UAE, the PCB attempted to have Pycroft replaced, leading to a delay. During the delay, discussions were held between high-ranking officials regarding the potential consequences of boycotting the match. Ramiz Raja voiced strong criticism of Pycroft, calling him a “permanent fixer” for India and accusing him of repeated biased decisions. Raja expressed relief that the PCB didn’t make an emotional decision to boycott the game, believing it would have damaged Pakistani cricket. He emphasized the importance of the team letting their performance on the field speak for itself. He also took issue with comments made by Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav after the match, viewing it as a pivotal moment. Raja hopes that cricket doesn’t become a platform for political tensions, expressing his wish for the Pakistani team to perform well.
