India secured victory in the 2025 Asia Cup, defeating Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 28. This was the third instance of India defeating Pakistan in the same competition. The victory was accompanied by a contentious moment when ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi was accused of taking the trophy, disrupting the Indian team’s celebration. Following this incident, Naqvi also posted his views on social media. In response to a tweet from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Naqvi wrote: “If war was your measure of pride, history already records your humiliating defeats at Pakistan’s hands. No cricket match can rewrite that truth. Dragging war into sport only exposes desperation and disgraces the very spirit of the game.”
