Harare’s Takashinga Sports Club witnessed Bangladesh Under-19s’ firepower on January 23 as they thrashed USA by seven wickets in the Under-19 World Cup 2026, booking Super Six tickets. With India first from Group B and New Zealand following, the stage is set for intense knockouts.
USA faltered batting first after toss defeat, all out for 199. Down 6 for 2, Srivastava (39, 65b) and Garg (35, 60b; 2×6, 2×4) rebuilt via 51 runs. Five down at 89, Jhanb’s masterful 68* (69b, 1×6, 3×4) and 43 with Kappu salvaged respectability.
Bangladesh pacers dominated: Emon (3/??), Fihad (2), Ahmed (2), Rizan Hussain (2). In reply, Abbar blazed 47 (42b, 3×6, 5×4), Beg grinded 30 (55b, 3×4) for 78-run powerplay. Tamim’s 64 (82b, 2×6, 2×4) and Siddiqui’s 30* added 88 to wrap in 41.3 overs.
USA’s Appidi, Srivastava, Garg took a scalp apiece. Bangladesh’s all-round show – sharp bowling collapsing USA, then composed chase – highlights their pedigree. Super Six awaits, where they’ll aim to peak against top sides.
