The West Indies’ victory over Pakistan in the ODI series, after a 34-year gap, has led to strong reactions, particularly concerning the performance of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Their poor batting in the last two matches, where Pakistan lost, has been heavily criticized by former cricketer Basit Ali. Ali suggested that instead of playing cricket, they should focus on endorsements, accusing them of relying on their early career performances and ignoring coaching advice. In the decisive match, Pakistan was all out for 92 runs in under 30 overs, leading to a heavy defeat. Azam scored just nine runs, and Rizwan failed to score. Ali’s criticism highlighted their poor form and the team’s overall performance. In the three-match series, Babar Azam scored 56 runs with an average of 18.66 and a strike rate of 62.22, while Mohammad Rizwan managed 69 runs with an average of 23 and a strike rate of 63.88. Both players’ ODI performances have been consistently below par.
