The BCCI is targeting substantial earnings exceeding 400 crore rupees. The board is seeking sponsors for the next three years, encompassing a total of 130 matches. These include the T20 World Cup 2026 and the ODI World Cup 2027. The board anticipates revenues exceeding 400 crore rupees from these 130 matches. The previous agreement between the BCCI and Dream11 was set to last until 2026. The deal involved 3.17 crore rupees for bilateral matches and 1.12 crore rupees for tournament matches. The BCCI has now increased these amounts by approximately 30 to 40 lakh rupees, exceeding market rates. The reason for higher fees in bilateral matches is the prominent display of the sponsor’s name on the players’ jersey chest area, whereas in events like the ICC and Asia Cup, the sponsor’s name appears on the sleeves.
